Introduction

Is your NYC-based startup or business ready to scale? Whether you’re tech-driven with a focus on community solutions or a B2B venture aiming for market leadership, here’s your chance to accelerate with a $25,000 boost. We’re seeking visionary founders across sectors, committed to innovation and impact. Join the TechImpact Startup Competition, co-sponsored by Accompany Capital and The Tech Incubator at Queens College.

Competition Categories

Whether you’re a fledgling startup or in a growth phase, this competition is designed for ventures that align with the following impactful categories:

Seeking scalable, data-backed solutions that enhance environmental sustainability and social equity. Focus areas include clean energy, water, local agriculture, and smart cities. Cross-sector collaborations are encouraged.

Seeking holistic solutions for comprehensive healthcare, from accessibility to mental health. Prioritizes preventative care, tech-enabled services, and multi-stakeholder collaborations.

Focuses on innovative FinTech solutions that improve financial access and literacy, especially for underserved communities. Values tech-driven transparency and efficiency, and promotes partnerships across sectors for long-term economic stability.

Targets startups offering tech-driven solutions that streamline operations, enhance productivity, or solve complex challenges for businesses. Prioritizes scalable solutions and innovative business models.

A total of $100,000 will be awarded. Don’t miss this opportunity to win $25,000 to scale your venture and make a lasting impact. Each finalist will receive additional rewards: mentorship, co-working space, or interns support.

Timeline

  • Call for applications: Oct. 30 – Nov. 30, 2023
  • Sixteen semi-finalists selected and notified: by Jan. 5, 2024
  • Pitch coaching bootcamp: Jan. 8 – Feb. 2, 2024
  • Submit a video pitch: by Feb. 12, 2024
  • Eight finalists selected and notified: by Feb.16, 2024
  • Final competition & awards ceremony (in-person): March. 11, 2024

Who Should Apply?

To qualify for the competition, applicants must satisfy the following:

  • Local Leadership: At least one Founder or Co-Founder must be an NYC resident.
  • Problem-Solving Focus: Startup must aim to address either community challenges or B2B market needs.
  • Impact-Driven: Demonstrable commitment to creating long-lasting social or business impact through technology.
  • Stage of Development: Startup should either be in the early stage with a validated MVP or in the growth stage actively seeking to scale.
