TECH INCUBATOR AT QUEENS COLLEGE (TIQC) ANNOUNCES ITS INNOVATION COMPETITION “PITCH FEST”
First Such Contest in the Borough is Open to All NYC Residents; Finalists to Receive Cash Prizes and Tech Mentorship Through TIQC
 
The Tech Incubator has announced the launch of Pitch Fest, an innovation competition for current and prospective entrepreneurs in the New York City area. The first of its kind in Queens, Pitch Fest gives entrepreneurs a platform for presenting ideas to investors and stakeholders; the top three contestants will get help in developing and commercializing their products. Submissions may be made online through the Tech Incubator at Queens College website through October 31, 2018, 11:59 pm.
 
Backed by Queens College and the New York City Council, the Tech Incubator at Queens College (TIQC) helps early-stage ventures by providing them the necessary resources to build successful companies and in turn, expand job opportunities and promote innovation and development.
 
TIQC offers a workspace with amenities and state-of-the-art peripherals, including a 3-D printer. In addition, the Tech Incubator puts entrepreneurs in contact with the talent pool of Queens College, a local economic engine and a leader in tech education, with more undergraduate computer science majors than any institution in metropolitan New York. Tech Incubator members include local and international companies, covering over 15 wide-ranging industries.
 
Pitch Fest Innovation Competition is open to all New Yorkers and all manner of ideas. Entries are encouraged from any field or industry, but must demonstrate a technical need or component. Competitors are not required to possess a technical or business background. Semi-finalists, to be announced on November 9, will participate in a development period under the guidance  a development of industry leaders. Pitch Fest will culminate in a final live pitch competition on the Queens College campus in December. The grand prize winner will receive $7,500. Second and third place winners will receive cash prizes of $5,000 and $2,500, respectively. All finalists will receive one-year complimentary membership in the Tech incubator at Queens College and dedicated mentorship.
